CARP/SFOT Langley provincial election debate to be
first ever live web streamed in Langley
and conducted by a 3 member media power panel

CARP and SFOT are
delighted to jointly host the first ever Media Power Panel election candidate
debate on May 1st for all Langley Township & Langley City candidates
prior to the Provincial Election.
The Media Power Panel
will develop and ask the questions as well as receive and ask audience and live
twitter questions from the public. The debate organizing committee is looking
forward to also live streaming the debate over the internet for the first time
ever in Langley.
The CARP and SFOT organizations have teamed up to host a Provincial Langley Election Candidates
Debate on May 1st at the Langley Township Municipal building 3rd floor
Presentation Theater at 20338 - 65 Avenue.
The debate
will commence at 7 PM and will be preceded by a foyer meet & greet period
between 6 PM and 7 PM.
This non partisan debate
is open to the public. All 700+ members of both hosting organizations will also
be informed of the debate and invited to attend/participate.
This is the first ever
Langley debate that will include candidates from both the Langley Provincial
ridings at the same time and conducted entirely by a local media panel. The election
candidates will be questioned by a three member Media Power Panel.
The Media Power Panel consists
of three of Langley’s most prominent media leaders:

Frank Bucholtz, who is the Langley Times Newspaper Editor & Surrey North
Delta Leader columnist.

Bob Groeneveld, who is the Langley Advance & Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Times
Newspaper Editor.
·
Mark Forsythe, who is the CBC Radio Anchor for B.C. Almanac, Publisher of THE
FORT newspaper and columnist.

Langley voters to help make their upcoming provincial voting decision based on
a non partisan debate of all our local election candidates at one time and in
one place debating their party platforms, policies and profiles especially when
led by our knowledgeable, well known and distinguished Media
Power Panel."

Fraser CARP Chapter #48 is a not for profit organization of volunteers
advocating for a “New Vision of Aging” for Canada with well over 700 local
registered chapter members and over 360,000 members nationally The

(SFOT) is a local Langley based organization that has a long record and passion
for making great communities even better with the introduction of sustainable
transportation options and community design that is made available to all.

also be asking at least one question each of the candidates as well that is
of significant importance for their members, demographics and
mission.
Invitations were
communicated well in advance in early March to all declared candidates or election
candidates’ offices in both Langley ridings. Specifically invited were all six
of Langley’s Provincial Conservatives, Liberals and NDP election candidates.
